What it's about
The Gilbert Riparian Preserve is home to the Gilbert Rotary Centennial Observatory. The observatory houses a 16-inch diameter Meade, modified Richey-Cretien scope.
Every Friday and Saturday Night the East Valley Astronomy Club hosts a public viewing of the night sky. There is typically a small line that forms outside of the telescopes housing unit as everyone takes their turn looking through the scope. This is truly a unique experience.
Although it is completely free it is suggested to bring a small donation. (Suggested donation $5/family or $3/adult.)
Tip: Bring a couple glow sticks to light up the night! ☢️
